DO many people use the offline folders…other than for laptops and remote users? I have a raided server, but a somewhat unreliable ISP(usually goes down for a couple hours every month). I would like for users’ docs to always be available, but offline folders seem to be a pain. My users will only get confused when they go OFFLINE and will call for help. I am thinking about simply redirecting the MY DOCS and leaving it OR using Home Directories(basically the same thing) and forgetting about offline access. Any suggestions? Seems Offline folders would generate a lot more network traffic that I do not want. My users would have an easier time understanding that they need to save/copy their critical docs (that need backed up) to their home directory or MY Docs folder. Also, you cannot easily synchronize PST files which is a problem. We have them located in MY DOCS folders.
Am I missing something in Win2k? What is everyone doing on small-medium sized networks? PS- If my ISP goes down, 80% of the users will still have ability to access their shares.
