OL2K: Mark message as "read" by rule

By DFWDraco76 ·
My goal is this: Move messages from person X to folder Y, and mark the messages as "read".

Seems like a simple enough task, but I can't figure out how to do it. Is there a way of marking messages as "read" through a rule?? I'm using Outlook 2000 (corporate/workgroup install) on a Win2k Pro machine.

You can try the rules wizard or a right mouse click on the message and choose 'mark as read.'

I haven't found a way to do it with the rules wizard, that's why I posted this question. And right clicking is not acceptable--as I stated the goal is to do this by a rule, since there will be hundreds of messages that this applies to.
