Old documents printing - network printer

By whconstad ·
I a windows network - mixture of NT server and windows 2000, workstations are all windows 2000. I use TCP/IP conections to print to an HP 2100TN, without any current problems EXCEPT - I have about a dozen single page documents that will seemingly print from nowhere - these are documents which have already printed in the past, and - from time to time, will get printed again. I have tried to located some spooled files anywhere on my network, but can't seem to find any. Any suggestions appreciated.

if you are not finding spooled files, believe your eyes. test with dummy print job to be sure. what file go in and out of spool
check event log see if any spooler errors or whatever
the other place stuff could be getting stuck is in the printer memory. does resetting printer (not cancel) stop this? then problem is in printer
maybe try firmware upgrade, maybe look for communication problems (seems far fetched).
i'd ask hp about this one...

I did check and reset printer, even unplugged it for awhile and then repowered it. I am not sure what log to check and where - while I am computer comfortable, I am not an expert.
