    Omnibook 6100 Bios Reset

    Locked

    by jprice ·

I believe there is no way to reset the bios on the HP OmniBook without replacing the chip or a chip reader.

I didnt know if any of you had a Trick I might try.

    Thanks.

      Just follow these instructions instead.

Use a magnet on the HDD (very powerful one). Then toss the unit as far as the eye can see. Afterwards go hunt down the pieces and put it in the recycle bin…

you need to call HP and get an unlock code to reset the BIOS if I remember properly.

      reset chip

get a copy of the firmware on white paper
then look for the reset switch code. it clears all data on the chip. so it will work agin. If you install drivers for a sound card and didn’t turn off the motherboard sound in your bios, you can lock your motherboard chip working. turn on the reset code by inserting it in the setup inf file that comes with your driver install for the mothboard, or install the firmware with the reset turned on works on Realtek Alc850
