Default gateway is correct?
Good CAT5 cable?
Did you try and run a sniffer to see exactly if packets are being send and/or coming back?

Sounds like it could be an IP problem? Check IP settings, uninstall/reinstall TCP/IP

Your settings are not configured. If you have a router.. dsl.. or cable modem type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar on internet explorer.. Then depending on how you connect the user name will be admin or administrator... and the password will be password...or...admin. Usually the book tells you what it is. Other wise give who ever supplies your high speed connection a call and tell them you need to configure your modem/router. Usally once you get into 192.168.1.1 all you have to do is type in your screen name and password and click connect. Let me know if it helps
