On-board video and a video card?

    Locked

    by vas ·

I have a Biostar M6VLQ motherboard, which comes with an on-board Trident Blade 3D video.
When I put my PCI nVidia GeForce 2 MX200 in, the on-board video doesn’t display anything and when I plug the monitor into the GeForce all I get are vertical lines.
When I take the card out the on-board video works fine.
I tested the GeForce in a different computer and it works fine.

I checked in the bios, there were options to disable all the on-board devices except the video, and I tried setting the default to the AGP port, but it still did the same.
This motherboard doesn’t even have an AGP port, and my GeForce is PCI, but it still has the AGP setting in the bios.

No, the only setting is where to send the video first, AGP or PCI, when I set it to PCI I get vertical lines, when I set it to AGP the monitor goes into power saver mode.

Have you tried simly disabling the onboard video in the Control Panel under System? That’s all I did to get mine working.

I disabled the on-board video, shut the computer off, put the GeForce in, started it up but it still showed just vertical lines.
I let it boot into windows until it played the logon sound, then I restarted my computer and it worked fine. Thanks.
