one exchange server – 2 domains

I’m in the process of an Active Directory migration. At the moment, I have one Exchange Server (2003) and two Active Directory Domains (2003). I plan to use the ADMT to migrate the users to the new domain and would like them to access the Exchange server that is currently in the old domain. Here is a summary of what it will look like when I’m done.

domain A:
—————-
no users
exchange server

domain B:
—————-
users
no exchange server

users from domain B will access their mail from exchange server in domain A

Can someone offer some advice as to how I can accomplish this?

How many forests?

Are the 2 domains in the same forest? The answer to this question determines how you deal with new users, not migrated users.

For migrated users, ADMT should carry their SID history, so they should be able to access their mailboxes on the Exchange Server as if nothing had changed.

The serve will be in one forest and the server in another. There will be a forest trust between the two.
