I’m leaving my current position to move to a management position at a larger company. I’m leaving on pretty good terms with my current employer, and I want to help them find a replacement.
Its a small manufacturer on the steel city’s north shore. One man IT department. A lot of responsibility, a lot of authority, friendly people, usually a good environment (every place has its bad days I suppose). 10 servers, about 35 desktops/laptops. ERP, CRM, SQL, Exchange, Apache, PHP, Postfix, IIS, Crystal Reports. Most days are pretty full.
Another “interesting” part of the job is as a product manager for smart cards – sales, marketing, manufacturing support… I’m not the sales and marketing type, but this can be very interesting. And the manufacturing support is nothing to me since I was a process engineer in heavy manufacturing in a previous life.
