Assuming this is broadband

by tintoman In reply to Facing Networking problem

You do not need 2 lan cards to do this
Connect both your pcs to the switch, connect the switch to the broadband modem.
If you do not have an ethernet connection on your modem you need to change it for a broadband modem/router, you will then not need the switch

Sharing internet connection

You have to use internet connection sharing option using your dialup properties,
* Internet Option
* Connection
* Select your dialup connection
* dialup properties
* settings
* Properties
* Advanced
* Enable internet connection.

Need info

by Tim Jenkins In reply to One PC Two LAN Card One I ...

Ok first off what type of Connection is it?
If broadband simply use a ROUTER to connect them both. (a swith will not work since it does not have the ability to assign IP addresses.
Wire it thus
Modem
|
|
Router
| |
PC1 PC2

You can share a connection with 1 pc to another but it will cause a noticeable slowdown on the 2nd pc.

Hope this helps.

Tim
