One Tech does it all

by lightwarrior . Updated 25 years, 7 months ago

I have just completed my one year with this pvt comapany as their single office NT/Novell Admin, Desktop support technician and software adviser. Well I had a ‘Brain short” We were having problems with our Novell Server locking some people out. After investigating I found that the Mac Address was locked out of the replication table , and I had to do v-repair. During this I went to the 3 people who were locked out and took their novell login id’s , and passwords, After they went home, and V repair was finished I went to their workstaions, logged in and tested software and printing, Every thing worked. Now the problem, two days later I had to do the Netware 5.1 Service Pac install and NDPS update. I thought well I will keep theses 3 personsinfo and log in to their systems after the SP and NDPS is installed. So I put the paper with their Login-id, and Password in my Secure Data closet with the Netware SP info from corporate. Well after a late night tuesday, I took that wed off. so an associate who wants to be a tech, was taking my place to do the desktop support, she went into the datacloset (I dont know why) found the user information and immedately took it to the office manager who when I came back to work on thursdy nailed me to the wall, about security, now my big boss in corporate wants to talk to me.
Shades of doom , I feel, yet I hope not, for I wish to say, then those who leave their e-mail up on the screen are worse security risk than something locked in a secure data closet.
Any suggestions. Lghtwarror@aol.com
