Only in the circles of TR could a guy in Colorado hear about .......

....... another guy in Australia who's (presumably) passed on: Jules, or jardinier - aka Julian Hancock, of Sidney Australia.

He was certainly one of my most, shall I say, interesting adversaries back in the Golden Age of the TR Water Cooler; but he was also, in many ways, one of my biggest supporters - encourager might be a better way to put it. Very few have encouraged me to follow an unlikely passion like Julian did.

However, being less than 100 percent certain about my assumption that Julian has indeed passed away, perhaps Julian will post a message putting egg all over my face. We'd both get a good laugh, I'm sure.

But I wish I would have sent him that original 1963 Bob Dylan record album that I told him I'd send. At first, I couldn't find it among my collection of thousands, and then, as time went by, the thought slipped away.

I've only seen him an odd handful of times

but he struck me as an oddly consistent fellow.
I like odd. Odd has character.
If he has indeed passed beyond, may he find what he expects. Or not, at least be disappointed.

I think Julian would have liked that album

Agree with him or not, he was definitely one of a kind. I think he would have loved that album. Thats a really old Dylan video. He must be very young there. His son Jakob looks just like him.

Oh, gosh, the olden days on TR. I remember that discussion from your link. He certainly didn't mince words, did he? LOL.

I remember Julian, also, for his love of flowers. He was quite a talented gardener, hence his screen name Jardinier.

The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan album from 1963

One version of this record album is worth over $10,000. No, I don't have that version. On that rare version, Dylan substituted a few songs, including. "Talkin' John Birch Society Blues".

I didn't realize there was a different version of that album

Only you would know that. Dylan is such a prolific song writer. I always loved his music, but I'm not sure if I ever owned that album. If I did, I got rid of it a long time ago.

He and I have exchanged many emails over the years . . . .

..... although I haven't had any dialogue with him since late 2010 - December 11, 2010, to be exact.

I, too, sent him and email about a week ago, but alas, no answer.
