I just started using a conpression software to speed up my dailup internet service. this softare is amazingly fast and was wondering if anyone ever hear of it or used it. I cost 49.00/yr and seems too good to be true. Anyone using it out there??

My parents live out in the country and they can only use dial up. Their ISP (netscape Canada) includes a compression service and it does seem to help on some surfing.


But it is included in their price, not sure I would pay more for it. Often used pages load quickly, rare pages do not, and the graphics are compressed sometimes resulting in a rough look to some pages.

basically it's a big proxy, so regular stuff loads quick, less used much slower.

On broadband now.

PS I never signed up. The bottom of the contract said "I the clever git who read the fine print hereby agree to be spammed and ad'ed unmercifully for the next two years even if I cancel".

Still if you don't like it, at least the spam and ads come free once you cancel.
