OOO Notices

From a security perspective does the benefits of having the Out Of Office notices from Outlook disabled for external email address outweigh the benefits of having vendors etc know when people are not able to respond because they are out of the office.

Other than having a burglar sending you email to see if someone is in, I am not aware the Out of Office messages increase your security vulnerability.

As far as computer security goes, I don't think it makes a difference.

This would depend on the general paranoia of the company.

The bigger issue is flooding listservs, customers and vendors with multiple Out Of Office messages. Implement a system like Vacation with most Sendmail servers. It only sends one message per email address per Out of Office time span. It works well.
