The best two ways to do this are modifying the targets. Here is what you do:

If launching Windows Explorer from Programs/Accessories:

in XP (assuming you have XP) go to Start>Programs>Accessories. Locate Windows Explorer and RIGHT-CLICK it and select properties. In the TARGET box replace what is there with this:
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
Hit apply and your done. So if you go to explorer by using Start/Accessories you'll be in My Computer.

To launch Windows Explorer from a desktop shortcut:

If you want a shortcut on your desktop, simply create one to %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
