open file using default program in Vista

Hi, just bought a system with Vista. I have a .doc extension but i can’t associate it with Word. My Office Word is installed in c:\programdata\microsoft\… but i can’t seem to see folder in the window explorer.

I thought it would be no brainer but it doesn’t seemed so. Any help? thanks
