Open folder on re-boot

By rputil ·
I have a folder on my desktop that, for lack of a better term, I called "Frequently Used Items". I always left this folder open when I shutdown. When I would re-boot, this folder was always opened for me. In otherwords, the folders returned as they were when I shutdown. I hace since installed service pack 3 on my W2k pro. This no longer happens. I have searched in vain to find the option to allow this to reoccur. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Go to Control Panel
Folder Options
Go to the View tab
Scroll down to "Restore previous folder windows at logon"
put a check in the box
Any folders left open when you logoff will be restored when you next logon

Restore previous folder windows at logon is not a listed option.

Also, I recommend you upgrade to SP4 and additional updates as there are a good # of virii that have came out attacking SP3 or less on 2k.

Good luck

Sorry, that answer works for Win XP and Server 2003.
Here's an answer for 2000 from the forums:
http://tinyurl.com/2cu8s

Under the registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

create a DWORD value with the name PersistBrowsers and set it to 1.
