Opening files with an extention of .cex

By Robert.Dyhouse ·
How can I run setup.exe from the Windows 98 2nd Edition CD-ROM that came with a Compaq Deskpro? The Setup.exe file has an extra extention of .cex at the end. The file name is setup.exe.cex.

What happens if you rename the file setup.exe.cex to setup.exe and then run it like a normal setup file?

Check the WIN98 folder and see if the setup.exe is the same in there.

All the files in the WIN98 folder have the .CEX extention. My guess is this is somthing that Compaq added since this CD came with a Compaq PC.
