Opening “My Computer”

Doublle clicking on My Computer or opening Windows Explorer takes up to one minuit to display on my XP machine. Is there a registry tweak I can use so that I can get acces to my files immediately? If I try to save a file from any program it takes upto 30 seconds before I can see my drives to browse where I want to put the file. Any help is appreciated.
