Bug Status

by TheChas In reply to OpenOffice & Word 2007

Hello,

They do have a bug report for opening docx files open.

http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=60586

Reading what is posted, it looks like a lot of work will be required to implement the docx format in Open Office.

I myself do not like Microsoft's current document viewers as they all open up the documents in IE.

There is at least 1 docx document converter available. http://panergy.onerepublic.ws/docxconverter-win.html

Could not find out how much it costs.

Also, many file managers and viewers include docx viewers.

Just suppose MS are a pain huh!
