Operating Sys imaging and reinstalling

By cruisin66 ·
Trying to use norton Ghost to restore my original registry settings. I tried to use Ispeed to speed up my internet connection and it has never been slower. Don't want to have to do a complete rebuild and have an image I took a few weeks back after acomplete disk format. Using the restore command to restore the image and it always opens a new folder in the C:. How do I do it? what software should I be using and will it restore my reg files.

I would try restoring the registry settings by using the system start up disk, insert floppy and boot system and copy the files from floppy.
The other option would be to insert the OS cd and reinstall the operating system, using only the cd without the floppy
Either option will restore the registry.

Not real clear on your question - but you are using Ghost and you stated you made an image a few weeks back. By the way, where did you save the image to? - To restore from the image, which has a .gho extension, simply boot up to dos prompt, run ghost.exe which loads the program - then select disk-restore from image -then locate the image file, select and execute. It will work quite well.
