Operating System

How come windows xp has diferent OS, my computer originaly have a WindowsNT After having some problem that I can’t fix, I reinstall the OS.
Now I just have windows and I lose the folder I386.
I did use the software that came with the computer.
What is the best way to get back the computer to original OS?
