operating system

can anyone please help i had xp sp2 on my c drive which started to freeze all the time so i installed it again but didnt delete the original so now have two os's. can anyone tell me how can i delete the first one? and is it safe to do so?

Backup everything on your hard drive on this thing. When that's done, re-install Windows, but this time delete all partitions, create a new primary partition of about 30GB for your operating system and Program Files, and install Windows there. After Windows is installed, and all your drivers, third party apps & Windows Updates are OK, then go to Disk Management and create another partition from the remaining space. Files you create go there.

You can delete the unused OS folder. Then right click on my computer, go to properties, then advanced, then under start and recovery click settings. Click to edit the boot file and remove the unwanted OS. Then uncheck the box next to the time to display OS choices thingy. :)
