Operating systems failure

My windows 2000 system is not booting. Is there any way i can go to DOS and copy all files & folders to another hard drive. Thanks.

if your system can boot from cd and you have your win2k installation cd you can use the recovery console to get to 'dos' prompt.
fix pc to boot from cd. put in win2k installation cd and tap r key. you will get login screen. login with local administer account. password may be blank. Pick start/run type 'command' press <enter>

Your best bet would be to remove and install this drive as a slave on another machine.

If the system was formatted as ntfs it will not be accessable in dos.
