Operation "Critical Microsoft"

By TomSal ·
Hey all..don't know how much interest this post will generate but I found it a bit interesting. Was reading my weekly Zinio edition of eWeek and found a story about Microsoft's concerns over folks going the Linux route, some quotes follow:

"Still feeling the pressure from Linux and other open-source software competitors, Microsoft Corp. is reaching out further to the open-source community with offers of joint development and testing"

"Offices at the Redmond, Wash., company acknowledged last week an internal initiative called "Mission Critical Microsoft" that is based on Microsoft's Datacenter program and that aims to extend the reach of that program to a wider range of solutions, with an ultimate goal of encouraging customers to choose Windows over Linux.

Hmmmm...So I guess Microsoft is feeling the burn of Linux or at least acknowledging finally they do have a concern. Before they acted like Linux was no threat to them at all. The Linux freaks are gonna eat this story up! LOL.
