Operation masters IN & OUT

1) How do i find whether the operation masters like PDC emualtor , RID MAster & Infrastructure master is functioning or not ??

2)if there is only one DC in a Win2k Domain Will the root domain play all the 5 opreation master roles?

3) Can we transfer the operations master roles to the dc in child domain ??
