Options disabled in Internet Explorer.

I suddenly found the option of editing my IE home page DISABLED. I have IE 6.0.2.

And i also found my Registry editing disabled.
and a message prompet:-
"Rigistry editing has been disabled by your administrator"
my account is the windows build in adminstrator, & i run windows XP Professional Version 2002

any body can please help

Symantec just posted a removal tool for something that sounds suspiciously like this. Go to:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/tools.list.html

(remove any spaces from the pasted URL)
Download the Tool to reset shellopencommand registry keys and follow the directions. You may have to do this from an uninfected computer.

"You may have to do this from an uninfected computer," meaning that you may have to download the file to another computer and copy it to diskette and bring it to the computer that is infected for the installation and removal of the problem.
