Optiplex GX 260 wont recognize HD

The old HD went bad and when I went to replace it and the new HD isn't being recognized in the bios or with the 98 boot disk. I tried moving the jupmer to all the avialable settings, replaced the ribbon and still nothing. Any ideas?????

The MB connection where the ribbon connects.

Also have a look at the integrity of the cable/connectors, make sure that they aren't damaged.

Another thing to check is (and I'm not sure if this is what you meant when talking about 'jumpers') what setting the new hard drive needs to be. Master/slave/etc.

And check the BIOS to make sure that the storage device is set to the correct setting (I had an issue once, where I had to change the default setting from AHCI to IDE, seeing that the drive was connected with IDE cable.).
