I have an optiplex gx110 that has crashed and i don't know why. When booted it goes through the bios fine, but after bios it says there is a hard drive error. safe mode does not work either All Help Appreciated, Chris

1) Check the obvious. Make sure that the cables are all seated correctly.
2) Verify that the BIOS can even see the drive.
3) If the BIOS CAN see the drive then at boot, before Windows loads, press CTRL-ALT-D This is a Dell diagnostic for the drive. It will test it and may give you an error code that you can go to Dell with.
If all of this fails then you will need to go get a new drive. Sorry.
