Orphaned .PST File

by scottrados . Updated 16 years ago

I have a user who, while setting up an IMAP account, experienced a lock up of the workstation. The user then went into Mail in the Control Panel and setup the profile again. Problem now is that in Outlook 2007 there is a pseudo IMAP profile and .pst that has no associated email account. When trying to delete the .pst file, Outlook refers you to remove it from email which has no account referencing the .pst file. Deleting it out of windows explorer won’t work either because whgen you start Outlook up again, it creates another .pst file. How do I do this without removing the newly vreated IMAP profile that is working just fine?
