Right click on the My Computer Icon, and select Properties.

The license number(s) should be displayed.

For W98, and W2K, these numbers are different than the Product Key needed to install the software from the CD.

W98 stores the product keyin the registry.
(I forget the exact location, and am on a XP box at the moment)

W2K and XP create a new number from the product key, and throw away the key.

You can also querry the registry with numerous programs such as Belarc Advisor www.belarc.com
or Sandra www.sisoftware.com

Chas is right, Win98 stores the product key in the registry but...
Chas forget the exact location in the registry, because he is now using a XP box.

Pinoy_Teknik is using Win98 box so, he know where is the location of OS Licensed No. or also know as "PRODUCT KEY"..

\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

And find the string "ProductKey" with its Value Data that you looking for at the right pane of the regedit.

Hope this helps..
