Oulook 2000 calendar restricting

By mferrel ·
We have a shared Outlook 2000 calendar on our Echange 5.5 server. It is to schedule the conference room. Everyone has access to "reserve" it for their time. The trouble is people will double schedule time. My reaction intially was "Can't they SEE?" But technology must overcome the mentally relaxed. So.... is there a way that only one entry may be scheduled in any given timeslot? How?

Yes, any email address can have "conflicting meeting requests automatically declined" and conference rooms are no different. Look in the calendar settings for the conference room account and go to Advanced Scheduling or Resource Scheduling and select "Auotmatically decline conflicting meeting requests."

The conference room calendar is a calendar on the public folder on the exchange server, not setup as a user.

In order for that to work, you cannot be using a public folder. It must be the primary calendar for a mailbox.
