out of ip

hey , i have an ip network of 192.1.1.* , and i am up to 254 .. need to add more , i have a win2k dhcp server .. is it just a matter of adding another scope (ie. 192.1.2.*) ? i have an idea on what to do but other suggestions are welocme ?

The simple answer is yes, add another scope to DHCP and the LAT.

The more complicated answer centers around network design, segments and subnetting.

You could also use a 23 bit mask ( of the 24 bit. That would double the number of available addresses. But the other answer is correct - you probably have network design issues you need to deal with. If you have more than 254 devices on a segment, it's time to look into some routing solutions.

Paul is a network and is another network yuo might want to go to a class B network if you keep adding or learn to subnet.
