Now this may belong in a networking one (ill post there as well), but hopefully someone can help here. Just covering my bases.
I have just set up a LAN and my outlook refuses to connect or find the mail servers. For that matter I cannot ping outside IP addresses (i get time outs) and no host is returned when i try and ping domains.
IE does work (i manually configured the proxy server). Both machines run win2000 and the network works for file sharing and print sharing, just not email! it is a peer to peer network.
I’m sure I have just missed something painfully simple, but im very new to making email run over a LAN, so any help is greatly appreciated.
