Outlook 2000: Creating tasks from emails

By scott_hopkins ·
Does anyone know a way to build a rule to automatically create a task from an email message? I know you can drop the email onto the task "button" on the Outlook bar, but I wanted it to do it automatically

Hi,

I had similar problem. I have solved that by creating Agent (folder properties; server scripting must be enabled). Script for the agent should be similar like this:

Public Sub Folder_OnMessageCreated
Set CDOSession = EventDetails.Session
Set oFolder = CDOSession.getFolder(EventDetails.FolderID,Null)
set oMsg = CDOSession.GetMessage(EventDetails.MessageID,Null)
od = omsg.sender
omsg.Type = "IPM.Task"
omsg.Recipients.Delete
n.Update
omsg.Update
End Sub

Hello,

You could use the Rules Wizard. You could set up a Rule as new e-mails are received, they will be moved directly to Tasks. You can control it by sender, subject, etc.

Regards,
Melody
