Outlook 2000 Emails Open Minimized

By Link999 ·
Hopefully, this will make sense.

When I open Outlook 2000, and I double-click on a message in the Inbox the message opens but in the background. For example, when I double-click on a message it looks like nothing has happened but if you look down at the taskbar you can see that the message has opened. If you click on the message on the taskbar the email still doesn't open. I need to minimize the main Outlook program in order to see the message.

This has been happening randomly. Sometimes it works fine, other times it does the above.

I'm running Windows 2000.

Right click the message and choose restore. Drag the edges of the Window to resize and then close the Window. (Don't use the Maximize button)
They should open correctly in the future.

Doug's answer is correct. The window is not actually minimized, but is sized off of the desktop area. This usually occurs when a change has been made to the desktop resolution. See articles 144962 and 138730 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base for more info.
