outlook 2000 errors

by seadogs . Updated 25 years ago

I am receiving the following message when I start Outlook:
“A recently installed program may cause Microsoft Office or other e-mail-enabled programs to function improperly. Outlook can resolve this conflict without affecting the program that originall caused the problem. Do you want Outlook to resolve this problem?”
When I click yes, I get the following:
“Outlook was unable to resolve the conflict between a recently installed program and Microsoft Office or other e-mail-enabled programs. Outlook needs to modify a system component that another program is currently using. To fix this problem, please restart windows.”
When I restart and then go back to outlook, the error pops up again. When I first run Windows, I get this message:”fixmapi.exe – entry point not found – The procedure entry point wnetenumcachedpasswords could not be located in the dynamic linked library MPR.dll.”
Could these two errors be related? Any ideas on how to solve them? I haven’t installed any programs on this machine locally. The only thing I can think that would mess with outlook is norton desktop. We are running WIndows 2000 on this machine. Thanks for any suggestions!
