OUTLOOK 2000 from 98SE to XP Pro

by wsharp . Updated 18 years, 8 months ago

Anyone out there, this is almost my last resort…I have asked certified people and others…Presently I have an aged WIN 98 SE machine that runs outlook 2000 through EXCHANGE 2000 just fine. I have a new machine (with XP PRO) sitting next to this with outlook 2000 on it, but can not get outlook to work (loads, but have no network options and though it is the SAME program as what is on my 98 machine, the various “options” do not apper to be anything like the ones found on the 98 machine). I have apparently lost my one chance at a “wizard” to set up outlook 2000 on the XP machine. NO amount or type of “unload/remove program” will give me a new “wizard” to set up outlook. Each “re-load” come back to the SAME non-settings I have now that won’t work. ISN’T there some file folder or files I can just migrate from (import from…)the 98SE machine so that the XP Pro that will just make outlook 2000 work…and find the exchange server and my mailbox and all that good stuff? Seems simple, but I have not been able to find an answer. The XP Pro machine came with a trial version of OFFICE 2007 and since I already own OFFICE 2000 and am happy with it, I removed “2007”. My current 98 machine runs the 2000 suite, but I own and use outlook 2000 that was bought as a separate program and all works well. Suggestions, plans, ideas…solutions?
