I am running Outlook 2000 on a peer-to-peer win98 network. One computer is the Internet-sharing computer for this network. Often times we get errors when checking email. Each time the account server information has changed, in particular the POP settings. The POP settings will have “Localhost” and the user name will have something like this: tim/pop.snet.net, wher it should only have tim. Changing it back by replacing the Localhost with ‘pop.snet.net’ and user with ‘tim’, it works fine.
Thenext shutdown and restart may or may not result in this problem, but it WILL happen. It is a real pain if you check several accounts.
Any fix????
