Outlook 2000 Profiles

By dacafarella ·
Do anyone know if there is a utility out there that will migrate outlook 2000 profiles from Windows 95 machines to Windows 2000 Professional. We are in the process of replacing win95 with new win2000 pro machines and are looking for a tool that canmove the outlook profiles without having to recreate them. In WinNT 4.0 there was the munge utility that assisted in this. Any thoughts.

Outlook 2000 Profiles

Hi there,

I don't know if there is a tool to do that.
But you can try to export Outlook profiles from the registry. On the new OS you simply have to install the reg key.

To do that, open the registry on each PC by running REGEDIT, and go to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\user_profile\ 0a0d020000000000c000000000000046\101e0384

From there, hilight the user profile you want to export and choose from the Registry menu EXPORT REGISTRY FILE...

The program will ask you a name for the exported registry key. It will add extension .REG. By default, this file become an installable file by simply double-clicking on it on another machine. That way, you recover all entry for each profile, including (PST, PAB path file), Internet email profile and so on.

Hope it can help you...
