I am using Outlook 2000 as my e-mail client, with Word 2000 set as my e-mail editor. This ususally works wonderfully, since using Word as the e-mail editor lets you use advanced features such as grammar check, advanced spell check, numbered lists, and more. However, there is one thing that setting Word as the Outlook e-mail editor does that I would like to stop from occuring, and I am not quite sure how to do it. You see, whenever you reply or forward a message and have Outlook set to include the original message, Word will add fancy formatting to the “From”, “To”, and “Subject” fields of the original message. Specifically, it will add a vertical black bar connecting all 3 fields, as well as highlighting the entire “From” field row in a medium gray color. I would like to know how to turn this fancy formatting off, since it is increasing the file size by about 5k for each message sent or forwarded. Also if anyone knows a solution, please indicate how I can modify the Outlook settings so that all future messages automatically leave out this undesired fancy formatting as well.
