    Outlook 2000 reminders

    I need to know if keeping the Outlook reminders up, slows down (or uses resources) on a pc? What I have is a user (manager) that has about 50+ reminders start up everytime he starts up his outlook 2000, then he complains that his pc is slow (he has a Dell 800mhz w/128mb ram W2k os). I tell him it’s his reminders but he want proof.

      well, i would try turning off preferences for test. Outlook/Tools/Options/Preferences/Task options. also check out this article about starting outlook with ‘cleanreminders’ and other switches designed to help troubleshoot outlook. knowledgebase at http://www.suppport.microsoft.com for article 197180.
      you don’t mention outlook version or office service pack version.

      Might also be worth firing up Task Manager and checking the processor / memory usage for Outlook.exe.
