Outlook 2000 Startup

By PESIMI Systems Manager ·
Why is it that Outlook 2000 Starts with a restore when you close Outlook Minimized or create a Shortcut to Outlook which is supposed to start outlook Minimized? I use the Windows Startup Folder to automatically start Outlook but starting with the Start Minimized selected Outlook always restores to the last viewed state (Full screen or Normal Window). Is there any way to change the functionality to allow it to start as the shortcut requests the App to start, or is that far too much to ask of Microsoft?

One way you can cause Outlook to start up minimized would be to have Outlook minimized and then shut down your computer. Don't close Outlook before shutting down. This way Windows retains your last settings and will start up Windows with Outlook minimized.
Hope this helps.

Also, you may want to delete the Outlook shortcut and recreate it with the Start Minimized button selected and put it in your startup folder. Then see if that works.

On the Outlook issue apparently it was from using Outlook today as your startup folder. Select Tools, Options, Other, Advanced Options, in the General Settings Select "Startup in this folder:" Select Outlook Today the pull down. This will present the issue that I am seeing. Other than using the INBOX as your startup folder, is there a fix for the Outlook Today folder to allow it to start minimized?
