Outlook 2000 sub tasks

By jodyc ·
Is there a way with tasks to assign multiple sub tasks to the main task ? Kind of like what you could do with MS Project but on a more simpler level. Perhaps there is a custom task form out there that coud accomidate this ?

This may not be possible because Oulook is setup for the recipient to take ownership of the task upon receit and only one with ownership is allowed to make changes.
Their is a option to add item to task by opening item and dragging that item to person receiving the item.
So this does not create a custom task form option.

What if the tasks were setup in a public folder and all domain users had full rights?

There is no way to do this in Outlook 2000.
As workarounds, you can try:

1. Create custom folders for those tasks that have subtasks and try to keep them fairly organized that way.

2. Create a category for tasks that have subtasks, and assignall pertinent tasks to this category. View your tasks by category and, voila, you've got each subtask listed under its own little heading. If helpful headings like "status" and "due date" aren't available, use the field chooser to drag-and-drop theminto your view. Then you can just go down the list of tasks completing them as you go.
Hope this helps!
