Outlook 2002

by keith.oxford . Updated 25 years ago

I’m using Outlook 2002 with XP beta 2, upgrading to RC 1 soon. Question I have, I don’t think is related to XP at all but I don’t know.

When Outlook is open & I receive a new mail everything is fine. When highlighting the mail to read it, it is still fine. Next is where the problem comes in. When I then select another mail, either new or an old mail there is a pause of about 20-30 seconds. Mostly when this happens another window pop up saying, “Requesting Data”. This is extremely irrupting all the time. I can understand is there is a large mail I need pull off the Exchange server (5.5) but not for everything time I move off new mail.

We’ve check the network & it seems to be fine, no bottlenecks & I’m on a 100Meg switch. The Exchange server does not seem to peak either when this is happening.

The question is, do you know about this problem & is there either a work around or a fix for it?
