Outlook 2003 Autoreply – Does it look ONLY at msgs in INBOX?

I have a user who is convinced that his spammer’s (email forwarded to the SPAM folder via Trend Micro) are receiving his Out of the Office ‘Autoreply’.

Can anyone provide information?
