Hello,
Why not just ask the sender to send using a different file extension, such as .txt
What version are they using to be able to send them?
You must save them back to original extension before opening, though.

Most users don't know (or care to know) how to do this, it's enough for most just to attach a file..

Do you have your security settings configured to allow attachments? Go to Tools, Options, then the Security tab. Uncheck the box that says "do not allow attachments to be saved . . . ."

Outlook Fix

String
HKEY_CURRENT _USER\Software\Mlcrosoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Security

Add String Value: Level1Remove
Right Click & select modify
Type the extentions as:
.exe;.reg;.url

Depending on the version of Office the number in the 10 space will be different.
