Outlook 2003 Contacts vs. Address Book – PDA Sync Problem

by glen13 . Updated 17 years, 4 months ago

I recently did a clean install of WXP SP3 and spend about 6 hours culling out duplicates, dead people, etc. from my Address Book located on the upper toolbar. I then did a powerdown reset on my Handspring Visor to clear the memory and re-synced it with my desktop. All of the duplicates, deads, etc. that I had culled out now appear on my Visor. Hours of searching showed that the “Contacts” button on the lower left of Outlook, below “MAIL” and all of the mail folders, still contain the old information! When I click on the Address Book in the tool bar at the top, it says that the informatin is from “Contacts” rather than “Outlook Address Book”. Can I safely delete the information in the lower left “Contacts” button and how is that done? How do I get it to show what is in the tool bar Address Book? Visor obviously wants to sync with the lower left “Contacts” button!
