Outlook 2003 has removed all previous calendar appointments

I have a user who has reported that her Outlook has removed all previous appointments from her Calendar, she also noted she is the only person working on her PC and that she was never prompted or notified of the removal of all these appointments. Does anyone know if there is any way of retrieving these previous appointments and/or how this problem happened?
