Change Navigation Pane Font Size

by Jesse Akorn In reply to Outlook 2003 Navigation P ...

I went thought great pains to figure this out and I could not find anyone else with the answer so I will share.

To change font sizes in the navigation pane.

In Outlook 2003 go to:
view
- arrange by
- current view
- customize current view
- other settings
click on column font
click on row font
click on auto preview font
(change fonts to desired sizes)

Modifying Navigation Pane components font size: Impossible?

by pmarion In reply to Change Navigation Pane Fo ...

Jesse,

This does not change the font size of the Navigation Pane items. I believe I have seen Sue Mosher state that this is hard-coded. If, in fact, there is a way to change the font size from (for example) Tahoma 8 pt to Tahoma 7 point for items >inside< the navigation pane, I would love to see it. My issue is that I have so many customized subfolders in my inbox that I can't see them all at 1280 X 1024. I realize I can create a new toolbar with shortcuts to these folders, but this does not serve my purpose.

Thanks in advance

Modifying Navigation Pane font size

by SwinnCL47 In reply to Modifying Navigation Pane ...

I was able to change the size by using the monitor Appearance settings - changed the font size to "Large" from "Normal" - it's a kluge but it worked for me since I already had all the other screen fonts customized. (Right-click anywhere on Desktop, Properties, Appearance, Font Size).

Maybe that will help?

Doesn't work

That doesn't modify the font in the navigation pane. Supposedly it can't be done without changing your settings for Windows fonts. I guess everyone at MS likes one font size?

Changing Outlook 2003 Navigation Pane Fonts

by dbressler In reply to How to change Outlook 200 ...

I have spent the entire morning trying to figure out how this is done. The solutions posted here do not work for the issue we are discussing.

In Outlook XP, you could simply go to the Windows Display properties, change the ICON setting to whatever font you want, click OK, and even though it would change the font on all of your desktop icons, it would also change the folder list font in Outlook, too! But in Outlook 2003, that is not the case.

If ANYONE has the secret procedure on how to do this, I'll buy 'em lunch!! It's frustrating that Microsoft would not make this an easy change!!!

You can change the font "size" only, I think, of the navigation pane (controlled by the windows display settings)by right clicking anywhere on the desktop, select properties, select apperance, then select one of three font sizes.
