outlook 2007 address book issues

i just upgraded my laptop to windows vista and ms office 2007. i imported my .pst file and it works well except my address book is empty. when i look for solutions to this mess, i get conflicting answers. any ideas how to import my contacts into my address book? the office online help says that the default entries in the address book are the contacts – yet all my contacts are there but not in the address book. any ideas? thanks so much!
